About Us

We are friends and community members, young and old(er), who are here to inspire kindness.

PositiveThings.net (TM) is an outreach brand of the Infinite Love Project (R).

Together our goal is to inspire kindness and positivity to create a kinder world, even through one small act. Based in Maryland, we develop products and workshops to excite and motivate the community, to dispel negativity and divisiveness, and to create connections and positive outcomes.

A portion of all of our work proceeds supports the nonprofit Action For Kindness, whose mission is to foster kindness and community connection through mindfulness, music, art, and more. They are creating a world where everyone feels, experiences, and practices kindness.

Our Positive Thoughts

Your One Wild and Precious Life

Positive Things are tangible and intangible. Some of the best are the latter.

Pause. Look at nature or close your eyes. Listen to your breath. Breathe deep. At this moment be still and take it all in... These are the actions to take when you're happy, and when you're sad, when you're peaceful, and when you're agitated, when you're confused, and when you're excited. These are the actions to take as often as possible.

May this and future posts inspire you as you need to be inspired in the moment. And for now, perhaps ask yourself the question Pulitzer Prize winning poet Mary Oliver asked at the end of her poem, The Summer Day...

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean—
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

—Mary Oliver
